Brigg Amateur Social Historians
Who are we?
BASH was founded in October 2003.
Its objective is to promote an interest and awareness in the local social history of Brigg and its surrounding areas, and to support traditional and historical events in its locale.
We have a variety of speakers covering a wide range of topics.
We hold our meetings on the first Tuesday of each month (except for June, July and August) at the Brigg & Districts Servicemen’s Club, Coney Court Brigg.
Meetings start at 20:00, there is no membership and the admission is free. We hold a raffle to defray our costs and a light buffet is provided. All are welcome to attend.
BASH Ghost Walks around Brigg
Brigg Ghost Walks take place in the evenings of the darker months of the year, starting on Halloween. You will be led around the historic centre of the old market town of Brigg. A knowledgeable guide will take you to the locations of the better known, and some lesser known, sightings of ghosts in the town. The walks start and finish at “The White Horse” pub on Wrawby Street, Brigg. For dates of walks see our diary page. For further information and tickets contact the Tourist Information Centre, The Buttercross, Brigg (telephone number 01652-657053).
